Immunocytochemical Study on the CEA(carcinoembryonic antigen) of the Gastrointestinal Cancer

Abstract
|
|
|
To investigate the significance of the immunocytochemical study on the CEA(carcinoembryonic antigen) of the gastrointestinal cancer, we choose the 40 cases of the gestrointestinal cancer tissue in the JNUH laboratory and stained with immuropercxidasc(PAP) method.
The results were as follows ;
1. In the all cases(40 cases), 34 case(85%) were CEA-positive reaction, and the remainings were negative.
2. In stomach cancer grcup, positivity was 80.6%. And all of the cases of the negative reactions were well differentated cancer tissues, that was specific findings. But degree of the differentiation is not related to the degree of the positivity, mostly.
3. In the all cases of esophageal and colon cancer, CEA positive reactions were shown(l00%).
Above results suggest that detection of CEA by PAP method in the tissue serve as for an index to the pathological diagncsis of gastrointestinal, cancer.
